Responsible Gambling Policy
Our formal commitments to responsible gambling — principles, tools, self-exclusion, marketing standards, and helpline directory.
Last updated
1. Commitment
We treat responsible gambling as a core obligation, not a marketing line. Our objective is to minimise harm caused by problem gambling while continuing to provide a fair and entertaining poker product to the great majority of players who play within their means.
For the interactive version of this page — set a limit, take a self-check, see helplines — visit /responsible-gambling.
2. Principles
- Informed choice. Players should always be able to see how much they have deposited and lost, in real currency, over any chosen window.
- Friction in the right direction. Decreasing a limit takes effect immediately; increases take 24 hours.
- Self-exclusion is honoured. Once activated, we will not re-open the account before the period ends, regardless of how the request is framed.
- No exploitation of vulnerable players. Bonus offers and re-engagement campaigns are suppressed for any player who has set hard limits, taken a time-out, or shown other risk indicators.
- Transparent marketing. Promotions disclose wagering, expiry, and any restrictions up front, in the same prominence as the headline figure.
3. Tools we provide
Every account ships with:
- Deposit limits (daily / weekly / monthly).
- Wager limits.
- Loss limits.
- Session time limits and reality-check prompts.
- Time-out (24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days).
- Self-exclusion (6 months, 12 months, permanent).
- Marketing opt-out, independent of transactional messages.
- Real-time deposit / win / loss totals visible in the account.
Settings live at Account → Limits in the product.
4. Player monitoring
Independent of the limits a player sets, we monitor for patterns that often precede problem gambling, including (but not limited to):
- Rapid deposit increases following a losing session.
- Increasing session duration trending against historical baseline.
- Repeated cancellation of pending withdrawals followed by play.
- Failed deposit attempts in rapid succession (suggesting attempts to bypass a card limit).
- Direct expressions of distress in chat or support.
Trigger criteria are reviewed by trained staff who may proactively contact the player, offer tools, or, in serious cases, restrict play.
5. Self-exclusion
Self-exclusion is irrevocable for its duration. We will not:
- Re-open the account before the chosen period ends, regardless of pleas, threats, or third-party requests.
- Send marketing communications during the exclusion.
- Permit a new account to be opened by the same individual during the exclusion. Where we identify such an account it is closed and any winnings are forfeit to a recognised charity.
6. Player funds protection
Player funds are held in segregated accounts at regulated payment institutions. They are not commingled with operating capital and are not pledged, lent, or used as collateral.
7. Marketing standards
Our advertising and promotional communications:
- Are never directed at minors or anyone visibly under 18 in imagery.
- Do not portray gambling as a route to financial security.
- Do not portray gambling as a way to resolve personal or financial problems.
- Do not target self-excluded or time-out players.
- Disclose all material bonus terms in the same prominence as the headline figure.
8. Staff training
All player-facing staff complete responsible-gambling training at induction and annually. The curriculum covers recognising warning signs, conversation techniques, and the available tools.
9. Helplines
We surface helpline information in-product when limits are reached, on the /responsible-gambling page, and in the footer of every page. The current list:
- GamCare (UK) — gamcare.org.uk, +44 808 802 0133
- Gamblers Anonymous (international) — gamblersanonymous.org
- BeGambleAware (UK) — begambleaware.org
- Spielsucht-Therapie (DE) — spielsucht-therapie.de
- Jogadores Anônimos (BR) — jogadoresanonimos.com.br
10. Annual reporting
We publish annual responsible-gambling metrics (count of active self-exclusions, count of accounts with active limits, share of revenue attributable to top decile of depositors, suspicious-pattern interventions). The first report will be published twelve months after the public launch.
